Programe Information
Academic credits
Students will earn ECTS points for their coursework at Inverness College UHI. The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is a recognised system of credit transfer in Europe.
ECTS credits are a value allocated to describe the course and also the entire student workload (such as lectures, practical work, seminars, private study, examinations, homework, etc.) required to complete these courses successfully.
Credits in ECTS are not only dependent on course hours but also on the entire workload that the courses require. All the obligatory and optional courses are credited by the ECTS. ECTS credits are also awarded for work such as dissertations, projects and placements.
Normally one academic year of work constitutes
60 ECTS.
Transcript
At the end of the study abroad students will be issued an official transcript. Transcripts are normally issued in the middle of February and in the middle of June, once the Exam Board approved marks.
Students can either request your transcripts directly from Academic Registry or they can give the International Office permission to request it on your behalf and send it to your home institution as soon as they are available. In order to allow us to do that students will need to tick the relevant box on the application form and indicate the e-mail address/ postal address to which they want us to send your transcript.
