Forestry and Conservation

You will study at the The Scottish School of Forestry at Inverness College UHI - the biggest forestry school in the UK and the only such establishment in Scotland. All our forestry programmes are based at the Balloch Campus: located in the woodland just outside of Inverness it offers an ideal location for studying forestry and conservation.
Study abroad students will join our mainstream Forestry programme. Students will choose their modules (courses) depending on individual interests and course requirements at their home institution. In addition students will take part in the Cultural and Activity Programme and visit places of importance to Scottish heritage, history and environment.

Drama and Performance


If you have a genuine interest in acting and performance then you will thoroughly enjoy studying drama at Inverness College UHI. This hands-on programme will give you an opportunity to engage with community drama as well as develop skills in movement, voice or production.

Sports coaching


If you are interested in boosting your competences in sports coaching then we have something special for you! As part of the study abroad programme you can join our specialised HND Sports Coaching and Development of Sports. This programme will help you develop an underpinning knowledge of, and competencies in, Sports Coaching and is designed especially for those who wish to seek employment in the field of sport, leisure and recreation and/or continued study to degree level.

Year 2 extends the opportunity for practical application of theory and introduces research skills. Finance, management and communication skills are also included at this level.

Highlights
  • Links with external agencies, for example, Active Schools, local sports clubs. Opportunities to gain paid employment with Summer/Easter break programmes.
  • Support to gain further qualifications, for example UKCC Governing bodied qualifications.
  • Opportunities to represent the college in various sporting activities in Scottish Student Sport competitions. For example, volleyball, basketball, football and badminton.
